May 25, 2021—A new series of hydrogen fuel cell trucks made by Hyundai will be delivered to European customers later this year, according to a Reuters report.

Development of hydrogen vehicles is behind that of EVs due to the cost, the story says, though proponents of the technology say it's a better option for trucking because of hydrogen's longer range.

Says the story, "A new class of the Xcient Hyundai truck, equipped with more efficient fuel cells with longer life-span, is due to arrive in Europe in the fourth quarter, said Mark Freymueller, CEO of Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility."

The trucks are being bought by commercial clients in Switzerland, the story says, who since last October have been piloting such trucks in the field.
