May 14, 2021—Hyundai will spend $7.4 billion over the next five years on electric vehicles, hydrogen power and robotics, Autoblog reports.

The United States will be the base for EV manufacturing, in particular from the plant in Montgomery, Ala. That plant currently produces some of the company's biggest nameplates like the Elantra, Sonata, Tucson and Santa Fe.

Other areas of interest include urban air mobility, which has long fascinated transportation fanatics but hasn't gained traction due to the massive infrastructure requirements.
