Toyota Subsidiary Acquires Lyft AV Division

April 27, 2021—Woven Planet, a subsidiary of Toyota, will acquire the self-driving division of Lyft, according to a press release.

The deal includes Woven Planet's use of Lyft fleet data to help improve safety and commercialization efforts. Payments include $550 million in cash to Lyft.

“This acquisition assembles a dream team of world-class engineers and scientists to deliver safe mobility technology for the world,” James Kuffner, CEO of Woven Planet said in the release.
