Software Bug Disrupting Mach-E Launch

April 13, 2021—The Drive reports that a software error is putting Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles to a halt in cold weather.

The problem has to do with the charging of a low-voltage battery that doesn't have the juice to get the car started. Apparently the low-voltage battery doesn't charge when the vehicle is plugged in to charge the high-voltage battery.

The customer gets an app alert that their Mach-E is in "sleep mode," the story says. Ford says the issue is related to "parameters in the powertrain control module" and requires a dealer visit to fix.
