April 5, 2021—Coming off a costly battery recall from Hyundai, dealers should be wary of more EV recalls to come and make sure their response procedures are planned.

That's the message in a column from Wards Auto, which notes that the Hyundai recall is likely to be the most expensive ever at $11,000 per replacement battery pack.

From 2010 to 2019, recalls in creased 324 percent over the previous decade, the article says.

OEMs are treading new ground with big changes in vehicle technology coming out of factory floors. There are bound to be hiccups, despite OEM testing procedures.
