Chip Shortage Forces Stellantis Closures

March 29, 2021—A global shortage in semiconductor chips has caused another stoppage, this time at five North American plants owned by Stellantis.
The plants are in Illinois, Michigan, Mexico, and Ontario, Canada, reports CNBC. They build models like the Ram 1500, some Jeep models, and minivans. The closures could last through early April.
One analyst predicted that the chip shortage will result in around $60.6 billion in revenue losses from the global auto industry this year.
